Holidays in the Portes du Soleil

Morgins, just one and a half hours from Geneva and 10 minutes by road from Châtel, has its own excellent ski area and provides easy access to the slopes of Châtel, Champoussin, Les Crosets , Champery, Avoriaz, the thermal baths at Val D’Illiez, the Chateau de Chillon and the Lake of Geneva.

Chalet “La Dent de Morcles” offers spacious accommodation arranged on two floors for up to 12 people. On the first floor there is the living room, the chalet kitchen, a double room with en suite bathroom and toilet and a twin bedded room with a shower room across the hall. On the second floor there is a double room with en suite bathroom and toilet, two large double rooms, a room for four with two single beds and bunk beds, a shower room with toilet, a separate toilet and the guests’ kitchen with facilities for making tea and coffee. There is a large hall with seating area and video. All double rooms contain an extra single bed if required. The ground floor provides table tennis facilities as well as a heated boot rack and ski storage. The regular free ski bus stops outside and there is ample parking space. The chalet is set in its own grounds, excellent for games in the snow and snowman building!

Your chalet hosts look after you, providing delicious meals: breakfast, afternoon tea and a four course evening meal with wine on five nights of the week and a local speciality meal on one night. We arrange a meal out at a restaurant in Morgins or Châtel at your request on the chalet staff’s day off. Guests who wish to smoke are asked to do so on the balcony.

On your arrival we arrange lift passes, accompany you to hire equipment and make ski and snowboard school bookings, answer questions about the resort and help you settle in. We accompany you to ski school on the first morning to introduce you to your instructor. Our courtesy vehicle is available at the beginning and end of the day to help with transport if required. During the week we may be able to arrange to ski with you to help you make the most of the vast ski area.

Ski and Snowboard School
The École Suisse de Sports de Neige offers group lessons Sunday to Wednesday from 09.45 to 12.00 and all day Thursday for Fr.200 for the week. Each half day costs Fr.47. Private lessons: Fr.100 per 90 minutes. Most instructors speak good English The Jardin des Neiges, the children’s ski school for ages 4 to 6, meets each morning. Fr.220 Sunday to Friday. We will make your reservations and accompany you to meet your instructor on your first morning.

Le Babyclub 
A kindergarten for the youngest children, costs Fr.280 for those over three for 6 days including meals, Fr.390 for those aged between 18 and 36 months. For babies from 2 months old, 3 half days cost Fr.80. Shorter bookings are possible. Arrangements can be made to transfer children from ski school to Le Babyclub to spend the afternoon there.

Ski and Board Hire
Ski Rosie clients benefit from reductions on all rental equipment. We accompany you to the shop to ensure you receive the best service and we are there to help should you need to exchange during the week. 

Lift Passes 

• The Portes du Soleil (PDS) pass covers all the lifts in all the resorts of the Portes du Soleil.
• The CLCF pass covers all the lifts of Morgins, Champoussin, Les Crosets and Champery.
• Please add a returnable Fr.5 for your electronic card. If you order in advance we will have your pass ready for you on arrival. Juniors 16-19. Students 20 to 24. Seniors over 60. Children under 5 ski free if accompanied by a paying adult. Family reductions apply from 4 paying parents and children in the same family.

Travel and Insurance

Transfers - We can arrange your transfer to Morgins from Geneva Airport. Price guide: €130 each way with two people travelling, €150 for five, €172 for six, €189 for 7, €241 for eight. The train, every half hour straight through from Geneva Airport to Aigle, where we will collect you, costs Fr.68 return. Zurich to Aigle changing at Lausanne costs Fr.154

Train - Eurostar routes through Lille and Dijon and the overnight ski train from Brussels to Aigle in the Rhône Valley.

Routes - Detailed advice on recommended routes from Calais to Morgins will be sent to you with your final details two weeks before departure. The shortest route is about 550 miles and takes under nine hours. For those of you who would like to break your journey I can recommend an overnight stop at an excellent chambre d’hôte at Athée near Auxonne to the south east of Dijon.
