We were there first! On Saturday 4th October we were the first on the snow on
the Bochasses run this season. Our guests walked back to Morgins from the top of the run. If you look very carefully at
the picture you will see Rush in the minibus saying he doesn’t want to be
forgotten. To be fair he had already had a walk that morning in the snow.
That was before we all went into the village to watch the herds of decorated
cows walking down to rejoin their winter quarters accompanied by an
extremely noisy orchestra of extremely loud cow-bells… On the Sunday we all
went to the top of the Champery cable car and some walked back by the
snowy Ripaille run, which you may recognise, into Champery. A brilliant day
out! |
Snow is now well settled on the peaks but we are still enjoying autumn
sunshine in the village. Watch this space – the webcam picture is updated
every 15 minutes – the snow will soon be here! I’m really looking forward to
the winter season.

I love this
time of year when I hear from previous guests with news of their families and
summer holidays. Bookings are going well already from previous guests and
some new families. We still have space for Christmas and New Year.
Last year Morgins was one of the first resorts to open the main run. All our
guests enjoyed good skiing with fantastic snow conditions. It was good to
see friends from previous seasons and meet new families.
The chalet was full for Christmas and New Year with a

group who even discovered the village ice hockey facilities. We had the
traditional turkey dinner, with Sally as a Christmas Tree and Mick as an
angel, and a festive New Year with a visit from Father Frost to our Russian |

visitors.
Little Anastasia aged four decided that I was Babushka… January
was beautiful with some lovely sunny days. February brought new guests and
March and April saw our regular visitors still enjoying some good skiing and
boarding. Congratulations to Tom on passing the final section of the ISIA
Stage 2 while he was in New Zealand! He is now a fully qualified
International Ski Instructor. This is the top qualification in Ski
Instructing. He is spending some time relaxing in the Antipodes after all
the hard work before returning to England and then another season in Morgins
this winter. |
